Should I complain about this health care related

I had an appointment with a specialist a few weeks back. I’ve today come across the letter that was sent back to my GP. It says that there was a gpvts on the call. I was unaware of this and did not give consent.

Not sure what the rules are around this and whether they are supposed to ask consent.

Do you care enough to complain? Not sure I would be that bothered.

I probably wouldn’t have said yes I had been asked no.

They should always ask consent, I’ve been observing calls for weeks for uni (trainee HCP) and my patients have always been phoned in advance by trained staff to ask if I can join them, and asked again when I join the call if they give consent . Even if GP trainee said nothing and just observed they should have been fully introduced first .

If you feel you want to complain then you absolutely should do so because they should have said who was present on the call and ask for consent.
I personally wouldn’t as it wouldn’t bother me because I would have said yes anyway, just as I wouldn’t decline for a student to be present for any procedure and, last year, when I had an epidural and GA prior to surgery I even had a paramedic pop in to observe. If it’s bothering you then do write and bring it to their attention.

It seems like you want to complain so why bother asking the question.
