London restaurants?

So we're planning to spend this years holiday budget on a few UK City stays, doing a bit of sightseeing and eating good food 😋 We want to go to an Ottolenghi restaurant, can anyone advise the best one to visit if we're travelling with Annie year old? Not for the food as he eats everything but which would be the most family friendly for an early evening meal?
Would also like any other London restaurant recommendations which are good for families? We're going to book Dishoom but have four nights to fill. Thanks!

OK my diet starts today in advance of my trip in August as I'm clearly going to need around 6 meals a day to get through these recommendations Grin

You have to go to the Palomar on Rupert Street in Soho, it’s Jerusalem influenced food and is amazing, really fresh interesting food.

The Palomar is wonderful, the Barbary too! I would probably take a 9 year old there for lunch on the weekend rather than dinner though, from memory (was a couple of years ago now that I last went!)

I would recommend one of the Ottolenghi delis (Islington or Notting Hill) if eating in with kids as they are more relaxed than the restaurants.

If the weather is nice I would get a takeaway box and eat it in the park.

For middle eastern also try Delamina on marylebone lane
Roka for Japanese is amazing (not cheap) and fine with kids
Brasserie Zedel is always good
Oka for japanese too

Book a bar seat in The Palomar - so much more theatrical.

I know you might not be very excited by the idea of an Italian bit Locatelli's on Wigmore St is really lovely - very welcoming with kids and the food is outstanding. We love Borough Market - the cheese toasty place - Kappacasein on stoney street - good ice cream and Neal's Yard Dairy around the corner on Park Street. Brownies from Konditor and Cook. I can't wait!

My local favourite when in London is Il Pampero in Belgravia (Chesham Place, short walk from Sloane Street). Fresh pasta swirled round the enormous Parmesan wheel is a highlight.
