Getting a mortgage as an agency nurse.

To put this into context my partner is self employed and a high earner with over 3 years of account history and I am an agency nurse that does mainly block bookings instead of ad hoc shifts (currently in an occupational health style role). We will be looking to buy within the next year or so. I am getting a little concerned as friends and family members have said that I will need to be in permanent employment for over 6 months/complete a probation period in a new role in order to obtain a mortgage. The thing is, I am really content with my working pattern and the flexibility it offers me and find that it suits my mental health condition (I suffer with OCD) and I don't think at present working on a busy ward with all the rotas and pressures that come with it would be good for me at all. I really don't want to get a permanent job for a few months only to leave again. Although my contract isn't permanent, my income is consistent and I am paid weekly the exact same amount. Does anybody have experience with mortgages as agency staff/locuming and can give me some advice? X

You should be able to use proof of regular consistent income, a mortgage advisor would know which lenders will accept this
