Nice hotel suitable for all ages

Once covid restrictions are lifted, we want to go away with family (age 5-75) to celebrate a milestone birthday.

We're thinking a nice hotel, with good views & maybe near a village with cafes/coffee shops etc (old family members aren't very mobile/have health issues), but also with something for young children (swimming pool, maybe adventure playground etc).

Ideally want somewhere within a 2 hour drive of Leeds.

Can anyone think of somewhere that may be suitable?

Tia

The Swan Hotel at Newby Bridge in the Lake District is lovely, really smart and grown up but also ridiculously family friendly, with pool, spa, good food. They have great family bedrooms with a separate bunk room for the kids off it, so none or the sharing 2 double beds in the same room and trying to keep quiet/read in the dark after the kids have gone to sleep malarkey. It's right on the river so perfect for walks or boating and right by the steam railway too. They bring the kids free milk and cookies at bedtime! It's our kids favourite.

We live in oz now but last time we visited the uk we flew into Manchester and drove straight there, spent our first 3 nights there to get over jet lag and have some family time before the driving round the country visiting relatives started.

Get a river view room, waking up to the mist rising off the river is magical.

The Swan at Newby Bridge is indeed lovely, but we prefer Lakeside for a number of reasons. It’s right next to the aquarium, Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway and there are also boat cruises which leave from the jetty right next door so you can explore other towns such as Bowness and Ambleside.
Some of the family rooms have a second internal bedroom with bunk beds and in the restaurant there’s an under 14’s menu with ‘create your own pasta’ option. There’s also a good sized indoor swimming pool.

I know you say hotel but there's always Center Parcs and they have hotel style accommodation with housekeeping. The one at Sherwood Forest is compact and flattish for your older relatives, and obviously the fun pool and adventure playgrounds, woodland walks etc.

Lots of accommodation choice that might work out reasonable cost compared with a hotel for a group and you can always take easy food like ready made pizza, Gousto or supermarket curries etc to cut down on cooking needed.

Those places sound ideal - thank you!

We have considered Center Parcs & went to Sherwood a couple of years ago. It was great, but too much walking for the older people unfortunately.

What about some country pursuits.
