So decided to treat myself today and buy a nintendo switch. Couldnt find one abailable anywhere other than CEX but seemed reasonable price and get a 2 year warranty on it despite being second hand so ordered online and went to collect.
Got it home and the left stick had really bad controller drift happening. Was unplayable. So back in the car, to the store and they swapped it for another one. Apologetic and said they checked this one and it worked better.
Got home and its better, but the drift is still happening. So when playing character is running off the edge of the cliff etc etc. Not all the time but enough that its unplayable.
Looked into it and found its a common problem and happens about 1-2 years in. So maybe second hand isnt possible realistically. Which would be fine if i can get a new one, as its sold out everywhere!!
So i have the option of returning it all, and just leaving it at that, or buying a new set of joycons, but they are £60 which is a lot of money to spend when i shouldn't have to, ive already spent £280 on a console that should be in working order.
Its just so frustrating that i either have to give it all up and get my money back, or end up spending over £350 on a console that should only cost £280 brand new.
Why is it so hard to get hold of a brand new one??
Would you return it all and leave it at that or would you spend the extra money to get joycons that work?
