What's the best website to book a cheap flight to Turkey?

Or possibly Egypt? I'm not quite decided yet. I'm hoping to have some surgery in either Egypt or Turkey and all I need to book are flights there and back, obviously once I've booked my surgery!

Try Skyscanner?

Skyscanner? I presume you've done your research on the surgery - lots of risks and you also need to ensure you are properly insured.

Thanks will check out Skyscanner! I've only been abroad a few times either with school or on a package deal so never had to look up just a flight before!

Yes thank you, I'm doing tonnes of research and I'm happy with both clinics (one in each country) I've found, I'm just trying to decide which one to go to! Smile

If you're looking at scheduled flights there is supposed to be a sweet spot for booking something like 12 weeks ahead of the date of travel, but all airlines use yield management for pricing - the more in demand a flight is, the higher the cost of a seat. Whether these things hold true at the moment I have no idea.

This time, the cheapest flight might not be the best one. What happens if there are complications and you can't come home when you planned to? Cheap flights are generally 'use it or lose it'.

Skyscanner is good for finding which flights are available, but it's probably best to book direct with the airline and book a flexible flight so you can change it if you need it. However, this might be far more expensive than a standard cheap flight, so it might be better risking it and just booking a new flight if the situation arises.

But that probably depends on whether you're taking a flag carrier between major cities as opposed to a route more usually used by holidaymakers.

You probably want to look at the COVID situation in both countries too.

Even if you're looking later on this year when foreign travel might no longer be illegal, if either of the countries are still on the red lists, there might be quarantine requirements when you come back.
