Help needed from London MNetters (urgent)

My DD is going into hospital (London Bridge) for a procedure tomorrow. She has to be as flat as possible for 24 hours afterwards and mustn't bend. A friend was going to drive her home fully reclined in the front seat of a car, but isn't able to help now unfortunately.

Can any of you think of any transport she could book that would get her home? She can't sit in the front of a black cab or Uber and the back seats are too vertical. The flatter she is, the better the chance of the procedure working, and she's desperate to be well. TIA.

Thanks everyone - another friend has stepped up at the last minute, so she can sit in the front of their car fully reclined. It's the twisting bend to get reclined in the back that would have caused an issue.

She has had a spontaneous CSF leak and is having a blood patch tomorrow for those of you wondering. She's really grateful for all the help on here, thank you, and if the plans for collection tomorrow go awry, she will take advice from this thread. Thanks again you lovely lot Flowers

@Vintagevixen

You might be able to arrange now - they don't have a seperate transport department as such, it's the reception.

Bed manager is on duty 24/7 and might be able to arrange, or at least speak to the nurses on the floor she will be admitted to about it.

Remember it's a private hospital and they will be very customer service orientated.

I'll send her that info, thanks very much Smile

Oh poor thing, I can see why she will need to be flat. Hope it goes well, but do speak to the nurses when she's admitted, it's their job to problem solve this kind of thing.

They can't discharge her if there's any risk of her condition being compromised remember that - they will need to advise her re. Toileting, getting up stairs at home to get into bed etc anyway.

It sounds like all’s sorted, but in case she needs a Plan C, minicab firms should/will let you sit in the front; DP gets travel sickness sitting in the back of a car, so would always ask to sit in the front (back when we did these things) and was never refused.

Fingers crossed she won’t need one, hope all goes well tomorrow.

Everything crossed, she really is very grateful Smile
