best way to get the police to deal with drug dealing?

We have started having regular drug dealing happening on a corner outside to my house - it's really obvious, they don't try to hide it and it's happening more and more frequently. Always different people, it just seems that near my house has become the place to meet.

We've also been seeing a certain car parked outside, with a girl coming out to meet the men inside and then leaving again - again, it's obvious what is going on and is happening all the time.

I have reported this to the police once but as far as I know nothing has been done. I do have cctv (it's one of those indoor cameras pointed outside) which catches it happening, but the quality is so low they wouldn't be able to identify people. I'm also really wary of giving them CCTV incase anything gets linked back to me.

Does anyone have any tips? Should I just report every time I see it happening? Has anyone successfully got their local police to do anything?

@HypnoRuler I'd rather not live somewhere where it's legal to murder people, thanks.

@aintnocoffeebigenough exactly. I'd rather see drugs decriminalised to be honest, we aren't winning any "war on drugs" this way.

I’m not even joking when I suggest this; tell them there appears to be lots of people gathering and meeting opposite your house. They’ll be there with about 20 of them manhandling people into vans before you’ve finished the call. Only Covid matters! Hmm

Or tell them you've heard one of them say that TW are not women.

I wouldn't bother reporting it. The police are not always as careful as they should be about protecting the sources of information. You could end up wishing you'd left the situation alone. Even if they get someone for it there seems to be very little punishment and the dealer on the ground can get replaced very quickly

The term is executed. But it would cut users, dealers, and associated criminality overnight by 90%.

If you go dubai, you will see shops with real gold jewellery on display shelves with no barriers, that you can touch/take and minimal security. But no one dare would.... (But yes, i realise there may be other issues there!)

Can you play classical music loudly from your window? Might deter them..... some London rail/bus stations do it and it seems effective in getting trouble makers to move on......

MercyBooth · 17/03/2021 22:33

@Lostinacloud I was just coming on to tell the OP to tell them someone is having a party.

Lostinacloud · 18/03/2021 18:58

@MercyBooth protect the elderly eh? Hmm

Honestly, who reported this? And meanwhile, does rather prove our point Wink

Sadly seems to be normal behaviour, 1 flat in our road has repeatedly been reported by lots of residents and nothing has happened, police not interested.
