(LIGHTHEARTED) Bridesmaids proposals, am I so cynical that I think its an absolute waste of time and money?

Literally just what I wrote in the title. Obviously with the restrictions hopefully lifting in the near future a lot of brides to be are extremely excited. A number of my social media friends started posting the bridesmaids proposals of cards and boxes with gifts included! I'm just thinking it's an additional expense and stress to add to the already very pricey day! Or maybe I am just a cynical old grump who finds it is weird to "stage a proposal" to your friends!

Really not a fan, I hate landfill tat and weddings cost enough as it is. I wrote a nice note to mine which seemed more than enough. Save the money and get them a nice and personal thank you gift

There’s absolutely zero chance of me wasting our money for our wedding on this crap 😅 I said to my sisters “I’m going to have you both as bridesmaid” - end of story. Not to mention, it’s free!

I can't say I do without you

Who buys this crap? You get the label, ribbon and straw and you buy the bottle of fizz yourself.

I did a bridesmaid proposal! It was a very grand affair, took me forever to pull together but she loved it. As I got engaged, I sent my best friend a text saying “you shotgunned being maid of honour?” Grin

Yes, bridesmaid proposals are just tat and a money making exercise.

Im just surprised there's not a bottle of bloody wedding themed zoflora inthe hamper.

There seems to be a type.

scrappydappydoo · 16/03/2021 14:20

Hmm I would be deeply worried about the marriage if the bride can’t say I do without a bridesmaid.. It’s just more plastic tat and rubbish to destroy our planet with...

Jesus, and those shit little bottles. If you're going to go Full Tat on someone at least give them 75ml of it.

Now, I wouldn't mind that at all!
