If your DC has a cough, no raised temp and no other "covid" symptoms, do your nursery allow them to return:
A. After a negative covid test
B. After they stop coughing
C. Never, your child is tainted goods and must be kept caged at all times.

A

A, as long as it’s the same cough and the test was taken in correct period

Calpolforever · 15/03/2021 16:47

Well, it clearly should be A

Ours is saying B and a second negative covid test must be produced once the cough has stopped.

I half understand but also, coughs can last weeks, what do they expect people to do?

Ours said A. My DD had a mild cough but was otherwise absolutely fine.
We followed nursery's guidance and got a test done with the full intention of sending her back to nursery once the test came back clear. It actually came back positive and I was really shocked but just as well we got a test as I was in two minds about it.
DD1 tested positive a couple of days afterwards and she was almost asymptomatic other than a very mild sniffle.

My son has cough a lot in winter and sometimes summer. He’d never go if it was b

Megan2018 · 15/03/2021 21:13

A

We’ve had to test twice for coughs but been back as soon as had negative result (as they were otherwise well, just snotty).

We only have to keep off with temperatures.
