Storing Chunky Jumpers - I've run out of space

Ridiculous problem in the grand scheme of things, but I've never 'solved' how to store jumpers - especially chunky/winter ones. I have a wardrobe that doesn't have any shelving, a large chest of Ikea Hemnes Drawers (that keep breaking) and an ottoman at the foot of the bed (linen and blankets). At the moment, they are crammed into three of the Hemnes drawers which leaves no space for tshirts/underwear/anything else.

I am sick of piles of jumpers everywhere. How do you store them?

I know lots of people are going to say they vacuum pack over summer, and I did that once but had nowhere to put packed bags.

@Sparklingbrook

My problem with the vacuum bags is mine always end up in a weird wavy shape which don't store neatly even if there's room.

My Mum has a lot of my stuff in the wardrobe in her spare room. Any chance of a kindly relative having some space OP?

The solution to this is use a suitcase. Put the vac bag in the suitcase before sucking out the air, once the suitcase is full of the flat bags, close it. The bags will stay airtight and flat.

I feel the cold and wear two jumpers or cardigans every day in winter. I have four pairs of trousers, six jumpers, two skirts, a few shirts. All my clothes fit in four drawers and a double wardrobe which also stores my summer clothes and coats. People have too much clothes, it used to be three changes: one on, one off, one in the wash.

Suitcase full of vacuum packed jumpers to keep moths out, then suitcase in garage. I switch the jumpers out with summer clothes after season and this doubles my wardrobe storage in practice. I always keep one or two jumpers in the wardrobe so they are available all the time without having to get the suitcase out of the garage.

Don’t get rid of perfectly good jumpers that you love! But then don’t buy anymore except to replace worn ones :)
