Eczema on child's legs - stinging?

My DS3 has a rash on his legs. It's gotten increasingly worse over last few days - pharmacy has told me to contact GP tomorrow.

However, he's not long missed the potty when he had a final wee before nighttime nappy. The wee ran down his legs and he was in absolute hysterics, crying, screaming etc so it was obviously causing pain.

Anyone with kids with eczema that's had the same? What can I do to soothe his legs before getting to the GP's tomorrow? Thanks.

Loads of recommendations here - thank you.

Hopefully will get straight in at doctors in morning and see what they say. 👍🏻

Sorry to hear that so many of you and your children suffer. It must be so uncomfortable 😢

Interesting about dairy. I've had DD tested and apparently she's not allergic but I reckon there's a definitely a sensitivity there

Don't use a water-based cream like aqueous if the skin is stinging - something like epaderm is better. And I agree a short course of hydrocortisone looks in order.

Hi OP, another Sudocrem user here - my son gets eczema behind his knees and inside his elbows and it’s the only thing that doesn’t sting like hell for him. Worth a try.

Hi, just to update you. Had a phone call with a nurse - I had to send photos beforehand. They think it's eczema but also potentially an allergy. I have a phone call with the GP tomorrow to have an allergy review. He may potentially send us for allergy testing

In the meantime we have a steroid cream to apply.

Thanks for all the advice yesterday - much appreciated

Thank you for the update 100young. I hope the steroid cream helps and the allergy review is helpful.

I was so interested to see these pictures as my LO has had similar on her cheek for weeks- not itchy and seem to flare up and down with different temperatures. We’re having ongoing doctors appointments but I do wonder if it’s an allergy. Please keep us updated Smile

@100young did you ever get to the bottom of what was causing this? We’re struggling with symptoms still. Hope your LO is feeling better.
