So tired I just want to cry.

It's after 4 now and I haven't slept a wink.
I've tried everything - TV off, TV on, window ajar, window closed, heating on, heating off, getting up and doing something...

When I get up I am suddenly exhausted so I lie down. Right away I start to feel really queasy, like seasick queasy. Then I start to feel like I'm getting little stabby shocks and strong urge to move my arms and legs about. So I sit up and it stops. Lie down and back comes the awful twitching.

I'm so bloody fed up.

Are you on any medication?

K1ran · 14/03/2021 04:44

Have you tried relaxing music of some kind. Or meditation.

DianaT1969 · 14/03/2021 04:54

Get some magnesium or bathe in Epsom salts. The stabby pains could be magnesium deficiency. It also aids sleep. Have you been taking a vitamin D supplement all winter? If not, you can assume you are deficient. How old are you? Premenopausal? If so, you may need to change your lifestyle. No sugar, low carb, exercise, supplements, perhaps HRT.

VettiyaIruken · 14/03/2021 05:05

Yup, meditation and music , everything I can think of.
I take vit d as I'm cev I got the NHS pack that is 4 month's supply.
Medication oh where to start!
Amitriptyline, Metformin, jardinace, gabapentin, alogliptin, furosemide, carbocisteine, folic acid, b12 jabs every 12 weeks, lorazepam as needed, inhalers ventolin and fostair

I rattle when I walk!

I'm 47. Menopause - I think so. My periods have always been erratic but it's been over a year.

Don't want to be presumptuous but do you have a comfy sofa you could build pillows up on?

I just wonder if lying at an angle might help rather than lying straight down? I'm not sure though...

I do sympathise with you, I can never sleep either but it sounds like your insomnia might be to do with some of the meds? Sad

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 14/03/2021 05:09

Could be menopause I remember those symptoms like electric shocks maybe combined with diabetic neuropathy. I'm guessing you are already on amitriptyline and gabapentin for that. Sounds miserable
Can you try a low dose of hrt and see if it helps?

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 14/03/2021 05:10

And yes I am awake in the early hours too. Menopause haha.

VettiyaIruken · 14/03/2021 05:16

Sympathies to fellow sufferers!

I have a medical bed that raises and lowers so I can be sitting up, laying down, feet up, etc. ATM I can't get comfy no matter what position I'm in.

I'm bloody grumpy right now . Everyone is asleep the gits. 😁 I want to prod them all!

I get that. I'm currently wide awake tip tapping on my phone and keep side eyeing DH wondering how loud I should cough or sneeze to wake him up GrinGrinGrin

VettiyaIruken · 14/03/2021 05:30

Wide awake here too, I have a frozen shoulder so in plain an can't get comfortable. I have cleaned the kitchen that didn't work so now on MN to see if that makes me tired.
