Zoflora...

Bit of a random question but I can't seem to find any "guidelines" on google.
I've just washed the fabric parts from my daughters next to me crib, I know you can't wash the mattress so I'm just wondering if I can spray it with zoflora or is it unsafe for babies even when dry?

You can make a solution of zoflora and use it as a disinfectant

GreenSlide · 13/03/2021 14:57

No!!! Do not do this!

I wouldn't do that, no. I do use zoflora but I wouldn't put it anywhere a babies crib.

Zoflora stinks, I wouldn’t a baby to be subjected to the smell anyway, but especially not on their bedding.

It is safe for pets if the surfaces are dry before any pets walk over them. The packaging states this clearly
dementedpixie · 13/03/2021 15:03

Although I only use it in my washing machine fir smelly gym kit

@dementedpixie

For what reason?
Seriously? Firstly it's completely pointless, babies beds do not need disinfecting. Secondly, there have been concerns raised that inhaling chemical spray in adults causes lung cancer and other respiratory problems. So how can anyone possibly think it's a good idea for a tiny baby to sleep in a bed inhaling cleaning chemicals for hours at a time? Zoflora stinks for days even on hard surfaces, many people here will tell you they can't use it because it gives them a sore head. Even if it didn't otherwise pose a risk to babies health how could you subject them to that. And finally because it is flammable. The advice is not to use it in washing machines or electrical items for that reason. It doesn't belong anywhere a babies mattress.
NannyR · 13/03/2021 15:09

If it's diluted correctly it probably wouldn't cause any harm, but I can't see why you would want to spray it on either. It's a very strong smell to have near a new born baby and there wouldn't be germs as such that need killing off. Giving it a good vacuum then putting it outside on a sunny, breezy day would freshen it up.

dementedpixie · 13/03/2021 15:12

It is perfectly safe and not flammable once diluted.
It can be used in washing machines as it is then diluted with water too

ElderMillennial · 13/03/2021 15:18

I wouldn't use it on baby's bed and bedding OP

EllaPaella · 13/03/2021 15:35

The floral scented zoflora made me wheeze when I used it and I don't even have asthma. I would avoid using anywhere near young children tbh.

Snausageandmash · 13/03/2021 16:07

Thanks for all the advice :) I won't use it I just wanted to freshen it up a bit but will go with the advice of sticking it outside for an hour

If it has a waterproof cover then you could wipe it over with hot soapy water and then wipe over with plain hot water
