Why do anti Vaxxers go around telling people that all vaccines contain....

Aborted foetuses?

I am fed up with having this conversation with my daughters father. He says when I had the COVID vaccine I will have aborted foetuses in that vaccine. He asked if I considered what sex the child would have been 🤔

How can these people be so sure they know stuff that nobody else does whilst clearly showing that they are too ignorant to have even read about the basic science?

@Roonerspismed

Why do you say these people are “stupid”?

To be fair as explained above, many vaccines are made using cells originally derived from two aborted fetus in the 60s.

When you think long enough about that, it makes you slightly uncomfortable whether or not you then choose to gratefully accept the vaccine

It doesn't make me uncomfortable in the slightest. Unless there is proof that these abortions were forced upon the women in question against their will. Abortion is legal in the US and in much of the world, fortunately - though there is still a long way to go and the fight goes on. But all in all, isn't it better that some good comes out of an abortion than that the foetuses are simply cremated or binned?

@Roonerspismed

Well it’s no more incorrect to state that vaccines contain cells from an aborted foetus than the reverse 🤷‍♀️
It is, though. The cells used to culture the vaccines are the descendants many thousands of generations on from those two foetuses. Saying that they are the same cells from those foetuses is manifestly incorrect.

@Roonerspismed

So, just out of interest are you also against organ donations and stem cell donations etc?

Yes, or indeed saying that vaccines contain thousands of different aborted foetus cells.

I’m not against vaccines or organ donation.

I just wish we could have a sensible discussion about an issue that is far more nuanced. Vaccine are made from cells derived from aborted foetuses.

I can see why that is problematic for some people: it needs discussion.

When we stop debate with cries of “stupidity” then everyone loses. Vaccine uptake requires trust and an informed decision.

But it is stupid to say that there are actual foetuses in every vaccine and is a wilful misunderstanding of the science.

I’m actually not pro every vaccine but in the case of this one, if everyone decides not to have it then we will have continued quarantines and people won’t have enough food. And people will keep getting hospitalised.

Can I just ask what people’s problem is with using fibroblast cells from foetuses that were donated? @Roonerspismed? What are the ethical concerns?
