They could have a mistake in his records. Check they don't have him down as 2.1cm tall etc.

BrittyBrassic · 11/03/2021 10:25

My Dad was a while ago. He is 50 (but it was before they were doing over 50s) and doesn't have any health conditions.

His GP just rang him and said if he can get down asap they were offering the spare at the end of the day to people who could get down before they closed

I'm 29 and don't meet any of the categories and have my first jag on Sunday

Maybe be admin errors. Not surprising in such a huge organisation.
I know my GP records are incomplete and at least on one minor point incorrect. Who knows what else they have written about me that is complete garbage?🤷

OldRailer · 11/03/2021 10:33

Sadly nothing that's caused me to get a vaccine though!Grin

BrownEyedGirl80 · 11/03/2021 10:36

They didn't have any contact details for him its been that long since he's attended. They rang me yesterday to ask for his telephone number but obviously didn't say why they needed him as confidential.

DH and I both got invited this week. I’m 30s, he’s 40s, both healthy weights and no health conditions.

OldRailer · 11/03/2021 10:37

Every person with immunity helps everyone else so it's good news.

AntennaReborn · 11/03/2021 10:38

A family friend was invited for his jab for seemingly no reason.
Turned out his height was recorded as 22cm so his BMI looked, quite literally, off the charts!

The nurse said similar things had happened to a few other patients

Chimboo · 11/03/2021 10:39

Some areas are getting through their lists faster than others 🙂 husband had his last week because of brain tumour, I was told I’d also probably be invited this month as they are “racing through them” here (I’m 35 with no medical conditions at all)

WhiskersPete · 11/03/2021 10:42

Yes I had mine 2 weeks ago. 35 no underlying health conditions. A friend is 30 and has had theirs too. Just take it.

Bramshott · 11/03/2021 10:45

I think the doctors priority list contains a lot more conditions than the original "Group 6" list that was publicised. I've had my first jab because I had a deep vein thrombosis nearly 20 years ago, and that had been added to the list of qualifying conditions.

DenisetheMenace · 11/03/2021 10:48

Some areas are whizzing through the age groups. Our centre has staff standing chatting, waiting for more people. Only 5 went in a few weeks ago while my husband waited outside for his 15 minutes clearance.

I’d just be grateful and take the opportunity if I were him 👍

I know someone who had similar, recorded as 19.7cm tall instead of 197cm. We were laughing that he would have gone from being the tallest to smallest person we know! Grin

I have mine tomorrow. I'm 39, no health issues (I had surgery a year or so ago for back problems but I can't see that has any impact with Covid risk). I phoned the GP surgery to check and they said I should have it, though they couldn't say why. They then sent a message to all patients (DP is at the same surgery and he got the same message as me) to say if you're invited for a jab to book it and attend and not to query it. So I have mine tomorrow whilst poor DP who is 9 years older hasn't had any appointment yet.

HandlebarLadyTash · 11/03/2021 11:38

I've got mine next week. I'm 40s. Was expecting to have it much later

SarahAndQuack · 11/03/2021 12:38

SIL's a GP receptionist and made sure to get her mum and brother in at the end of the day. Not sure she should have done but I will say it's better than a wasted dose.

mindutopia · 11/03/2021 13:50

I think in some areas they are working down to 40-49 year olds now. I know in our area, nearly 100% of over 65s have already been vaccinated.

That said, the only people I know really are in the US where there seems to be no order to the system. My friend who is in her 30s and healthy had her first jab there back in early January and second one last month. While older friends and family are still waiting.

Devlesko · 11/03/2021 13:59

Loads of people, yes.
Also, you can turn up at a vac centre and have one when people don't turn up.
You need to be prepared to wait though, and you could be there for hours, but most people who turn up manage to get one.
Most people who want it will be done soon.

Februarycat · 11/03/2021 14:02

I have just turned 60 and not had mine yet. Been checking the website for a week to book it but says no available appointments. Just rang 119 to check if there is a problem but she said to keep checking every day, oh well I guess I will get through eventually

NeedToGetOuttaHere · 11/03/2021 14:09

My DC who is 22 and my DH were both vaccinated with me 3 weeks ago. I’m group 6 but have no idea why we all got invited together.

TheQueef · 11/03/2021 14:14

I had mine Monday.
Turned up at 3.30pm Sunday, waited until 4. No spares.
Monday waited and there were 2 doses left.
Apparently at my local they had 12 DNA despite chasing them all up.
They thought it may be due to school returning so if you're in a rush to have it it's worth an ask.

yearinyearout · 11/03/2021 16:01

Yes, several. Someone I know age 25 got theirs in Manchester as the etihad had so many spare slots, nothing wrong with her at all.

JingsMahBucket · 11/03/2021 20:00

I would much rather doses be used than trashed at the end of the day. I probably should’ve gone with my OH a couple weeks ago when he went to get his, just so I could get a spare.
