Early labour? Period cramps at 36 weeks

OK bit of a long message so bare with me.
I'm 36 weeks and experiencing period cramps along with braxton hicks. Been experiencing this for nearly 2 weeks but tonight they're actually really painful as to where I need to stop doing what I'm doing. I've had braxton hicks nearly the whole pregnancy and they don't hurt so all of a sudden cause they're causing me pain I'm concerned about early labour.

Baby is measuring about 10 days behind and I'm high risk iugr due to previous pregnancy of preeclampsia and daughter being born at 6lbs.

I was induced in my last pregnancy at 39 weeks so don't know what to actually look for. I had covid at 32 weeks pregnant which apparently increases your risk of early labour and my daughter was only 9 months when I fell pregnant again which also increases the risk. I don't know whether to phone maternity or leave it cause if its nothing they make you feel like such a waste of time, plus you go up and sit for hours on end waiting which I cant really do with a 1 year old so any advice is appreciated.

I should add no waters or bloody show and no regularity to the "contractions". I know if its labour I will know as I keep being told but because I'm early I'd like to stop it before it becomes active labour if it is.

I think you should ring as your early and measuring small they may want to monitor you

Is baby moving as normal?

Soontobemumoftwo · 11/03/2021 00:03

@MouthAche Movements seemed to have slowed down from Thursday night/Friday morning but she's still moving anyway if that makes sense. I went up at 28 weeks due to lack of movements and they monitored me for about 2 hours and said she had alot of "quiet periods" but after a scan sent me home that she was fine, her heart was beating away and I had plenty of waters so this has put me off going back, I don't want to seem like a hypochondriac or anything.

If there's been a change in movements you should get checked. They definitely won't think you're a hypochondriac. They'd much rather check and be sure

Any change in movements need to be investigated urgently

Please go tonight

Tell them of the change in movement and dont take no as an answer

MouthAche · 11/03/2021 00:24

Just because the last time was ok

Still go again !

nocoolnamesleft · 11/03/2021 00:26

If movements have slowed, please, please go in to be checked.

Soontobemumoftwo · 11/03/2021 00:46

I had a bath there to see if the pains would ease but if anything I'm cramping just as bad as before, she had a few big movements in the bath as if she was rolling over so I'll keep an eye and phone first thing in the morning if nothings changed

You really should not leave it

TheGracefulwhale · 11/03/2021 01:46

Please go in op, don't wait.
I had exactly this at 37 weeks. My daughter was born the following day.
Don't worry about having been seen before etc. They would so rather you get checked. I was checked about 3 times with dd for reduced movements and about 8 times with ds. Nothing is too much when it comes to your baby.
Please go and see someone.

Greenbks · 11/03/2021 01:53

I would go in now. I wouldn’t risk this for fear of being seen as a hypochondriac.
