Adult colouring books

I loved colouring when I was a child and would spend hours with my huge box of pencils or markers. I've been so happy to see adult colouring books really take off in the last few years. Does anyone else have them? If so, what books do you have?

I’ve recently discovered this and love it.I had a book I’d bought a long time ago so I can’t recommend anything but shops like The Works or Smiths sell them

Anything by Johanna Bassford, Millie Marotta, or Lizzie Mary Cullen. We have loads of book related ones too like Harry Potter and Tolkien.

I love colouring and have all the pens and pencils you could imagine!

I love the one that has lettering and little sayings. I just find it so relaxing. Started during lockdown and really brought me back to my childhood. My dd and gd all love it so a lovely activity we can all do together as we chat.

I just started a year or so ago and love this Stained Glass pattern book, so much I bought it again after finishing the first one. I find it v therapeutic to colour in the patterns and create stained glass effect. Not fond of the flowers and leaves

When I worked in a massively stressful job, at the end of the day I would go down to collect my pre-schoolers from the childminder.

And I would colour in with 3 year olds for half an hour and drink coffee with my CM.

It was fab.

This Jenny Lawson (aka The Bloggess) one is quite fun:

And google the Pictura colouring series for seriously beautiful pictures - i particularly like the Niroot Puttapipat one.

I found some nice ones in the Works. I also like mandala ones. Somebody on MN mentioned Zentangling the other day. That looks brilliant.

I'm dyspraxic and I find the finer ones too fiddly to do. Any suggestions for books which have bigger colouring blocks

NoSuchThingAsTooMuch · 09/03/2021 20:06

This is a nice one. Sweary too.

I bought one from Lidl while back. Very therapeutic and relaxing things to do.

Try Amazon for pretty much any niche you can think of. I've got this one for Mother's Day. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08WZH554G?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

@3CCC Take a look at geometric colouring books. They generally have bigger blocks to colour.

hippychick11 · 09/03/2021 20:16

I love all the recommendations thank you. I'll definitely look into them all, love the sound of the sweary onesGrin
