The word "Discuss" at the end of a title.

I have always found it really strange that people put the word Discuss at the end of a title or perhaps at the end of the question they are asking. This is a discussion site isn't it? Isn't the whole point of every post to initiate a discussion? What purpose does adding this extra instruction serve. I find it so strange and its as if the person is barking out an order. Is it just me (probably is).

Patronising and smug, I have seen a few on FB groups too but people don't really dare calling them over it.

I thought this was going to be a thread wher we would put ‘discuss’ in a film or book title.

The Life of Pi, Discuss
Tender is the Night, Discuss

But it’s a bit tedious so, phew!

I hate it when people put on FB 'recommendations for a cheap plumber.. and go!' like I am falling over myself to be the first one to recommend Trevor or whoever. Always want to write FUCK OFF to them too!

Hilarious! And yes!!!

Can I also add when people ask for something on social media and then offer 'bonus points if local/vegan friendly/cheap'

As though I've been standing ready all day, desperate to not only help this person but to do so to their exact specifications to such a degree that they award me their bonus points! Weeee!!!

It's like a 1980s exam question.

Yes, it is. That's the point. It's ironic.
