Most extravagant party bag

Has your child ever received an extravagant party bag?

It reminds me of a party where my 7 year old dd came out with a full gift bag. All the children had one.

It included:
Large dairy milk bar
Magazine ( about £4 / £5 )
Phlat ball toy
Big haribo bag
A4 sticker book
Barry M Nail polish
Lip smackers lip balm
Fluffy pen and notebook
Bubble wand
And an IOU for them all to go to McDonald's the following weekend.

This was given to 9 other children.

I felt very embarrassed as we only gave a £10 gift. The child had also previously been to my dd party and received a standard party bag.

Has you dc ever received an extravagant party bag?

I think if the parents want to go all out then that's their choice. I think it's OTT and I like the nostalgia of the old style party bags. I fondly remember all the birthday parties I went to in the early 90s. They were most often in the child's home, occasionally someone would book the local pool or take the children to soft play or ice skating. Party bags were those little floppy plastic things and inside there's be some crayons, bubbles, little bouncy ball or something, and then your slice of the cake wrapped in a napkin to take home.

I used to be a nanny for a hnw family. Once I took their eldest dc (10) to a party - it was held in a v posh Central London hotel. The party bags contained an iPad and mini LV rucksack along with hand made chocolates, and a miniature personalised cake. There were some other bits and pieces in there too.

Several of the invitees didn't show up, so the family's PA shoved a gift bag in my arms as I was leaving. I was thrilled. In fact I'm using that freebie iPad to type this message.

@Lanaa tell us more about these things! Oh my days. What did they do for birthdays? Did you ever get to take the kids toy shopping with no budget?!
