, am I expecting it to lift them out or just stop them? It was recommended to me on here for teen, I've got cream to foam, are we expecting it to lift out what's there or do we need to do that then it prevents more?

I'm currently seeing a dermatologist about my adult acne and taking Roaccutane, and I made a casual comment to her about still having some blackheads and she immediately said I would have to squeeze them out and they wouldn't just clear up by themselves. I was quite shocked at that but she was very matter of fact about it!
I've heard great things about Paula's Choice BHA exfoliant for clearing out pores. I've bought some but not tried it yet as the Roaccutane makes the skin sensitive.

No face wash will remove blackheads

They’re physically plugging the pores. No face wash or other treatment will remove them completely. That why facials include extractions if you wish.

Nope, she just said I would have to squeeze them out!

Steaming the face first will soften the skin and make it easier to squeeze them out. Make sure the skin is clean first and use a clean bit of tissue to wipe each one. It will probably hurt a bit.
