Which pushchair should I buy

I currently have a stokke xplory for my 16 month old. Although I like it for longer days out I do find it a bit of faff to put up and down and fit in a car or on a train. I would like to get a second pushchair for shorter trips, to take around the shops and in town etc.

What do people recommend? I will probably pick one up second hand as I have a budget of up to £100 ish. I have been looking at the bugaboo bee, mclaren xl and baby jogger.

I don't think you can go wrong with a Mclaren.

BertieBotts · 07/03/2021 08:54

McLaren are a good bet, or a new Joie LiteTrax.

BabyJogger City Mini is another good bet.

Britax B-Agile I have and like although mine is about 12 years old - wouldn't go this old as it's a bit broken now.

I'd consider the maclaren quest, it's a bit lighter than the XL, which when you have a toddler in one arm and the buggy in the other makes quite a difference. The seat is a bit smaller in the quest.

City mini is another good option, very easy to fold and seems to suit tall children well.

Thanks all. I have watched a few youtube videos and think for me the baby jogger is coming out top as it looks a bit more comfy than the maclaren but still very portable. Just need to find a good second hand one now. They seem to hold their price well.

We have a Silvercross Zest which I highly recommend - it's lightweight and folds down easily. I've borrowed a babyzen yoyo a few times and can recommend those as well.

City mini for sure

chocolatecheesecake · 07/03/2021 20:50

Baby jogger city mini is great - one hand fold, plenty of storage space and big enough for a tall pre-schooler.

The baby jogger is absolutely fab. Folds easily. Washes easily. It is light and my kids have never complained. And you can definitely pick up a second hand one on eBay for around £100.

Are you sure you want to buy another buggy at 16m? It won't be long until they are capable of walking decent distances and with the summer coming up I'd use the better weather as an opportunity to build up their speed and stamina

I wish. My 16 month old is still crawling/cruising everywhere! It will be handy for holidays as well.

City mini GT. Much more practical than a Maclaren.

Fab90 · 07/03/2021 22:58

I have a Britax Holiday. It won’t be everyone’s choice, but it’s very light, doesn’t take up much space and folds down very small. It’s also a good price.

JohnMiddleNameRedactedSwanson · 07/03/2021 23:07

Baby jogger all the way but I hate umbrella fold strollers and can’t push a Maclaren with one hand. Pay the extra for the GT as the basic city mini handlebar isn’t adjustable.

Confused Sometimes it's like competitive who can stop using the buggy earliest on here. 16 months is very early to stop using one! I used one until 3 with DC1 and can't imagine stopping soon with DS2 aged 2.5.

Stamina is all well and good but sometimes you need them to go in a particular direction without having to argue about it. And speedily!
