She’s been told to send her cv and covering letter, trouble is this is her first job she only turned 18 during lockdown so hasnt been for a night out in a pub yet😃😃 it’s her first year at uni and she’s been given the heads up they are recruiting and are keen on students. She’s done baby sitting only before. How much should she say in her email? It’s along time since I’ve applied for a job and it was well before emails I just walked into Bhs and asked at the counter!

Wasn't she taught how to write a CV, at school ?

That's going to be more up to date than I could add anything.

Generally, if a bar gets lots of applications and do more than a lucky dip, they'll be looking for things that have made her outgoing and given her confidence - so what has she done that her peers might not all have done ?

Things in school - like school council or whatever
Things outside of school - drama group, Queens Guide award, Scout activities, DofE, sports team, coaching others in her sport, orchestras, etc etc etc ? Other volunteering, or situations where she has been used to speaking to people she doesn't know.

A covering letter and a CV is what they have asked for.

It’s along time since I’ve applied for a job and it was well before emails I just walked into Bhs and asked at the counter!

CV and covering letter hasn't changed though, it's just in digital form rather then paper.

Things to put on the CV, draw on everything she has done: hobbies and interests, clubs etc

Experience isn't essential as they will teach her. Does she understand it means working the times that her friends are out partying?!
It's not an easy job, but it builds confidence and is good experience for her.

So far there hasn’t been any partying except in her bubble in halls. Sadly it’s a case having to find a job and it will be good for her you are right. It’s one of those big gastro pubs and it has a huge outdoor area they will be looking for all kinds of staff.
