They definitely like Tiffany but which one is nicer for a 16 year old? I can’t decide and think I am too old to get it right. Thanks.

Ahhh looking at the bracelet again….I don’t like the beading. Would look so much nicer if it was a chain

Crissy83 · 06/03/2021 22:48

Bracelet!!! The necklace looks like a tag

idontlikealdi · 06/03/2021 22:50

Ok I'm going to go against the grain, not many self respecting 16 yo would wear either.

ihaveallergies · 06/03/2021 22:52

Just out of interest, what’s your budget? I highly recommend an Apple Watch or decent Fitbit - it think you can get older models for around £100. Much more current for younger people, I don’t even wear traditional watches or brackets anymore as I love the functionality of my Apple Watch

MyDcAreMarvel · 06/03/2021 23:37

@ihaveallergies she bought herself a Fitbit just last week. I think I will go for a necklace as actually that’s a good point if she is always wearing a Fitbit she probably wouldn’t want a bracket. Budget is £300 max .

@idontlikealdi see this is my worry but I really think she will. She likes retro brands hates Pandora. I found out you have 30 day returns so I think I will just impress open her that if I chose badly she can return and pick her own jewellery. I just wanted it to be a surprise really.

@ihaveallergies they do it on a chain but she would snap it am sure.

Just asked DD who is 22 and mentors sixth formers, she said the bracelet is tight on trend and lots of "her" kids have similar ones. Although for ultimate cool go for a heart necklace. Smile

PattyPan · 06/03/2021 23:58

I recently turned 26 and would say the necklace is nicer. But I think Tiffany is a bit dated.

Mally2020 · 07/03/2021 00:01

I'm 22 and living in london and necklaces are definitely on trend right now

MyDcAreMarvel · 07/03/2021 00:44

Ahh how I am more confused by both necklaces and brackets being on trend. I did consider the heart but thought that was more a gift from someone you were in a relationship with.

Why Tiffany? If you want a classic piece, why not just go for the heart necklace rather then their version of 'trendy'. The heart one never goes out of style.

You are her mum, it's ok to profess your love.

Also, being given a piece like that by your mum means you won't sell it/ chuck it in the river/ return on breakup
