How long to leave cow's milk in toddler drinks bottle

Hello,

I'm trying to get DD to drink cow's milk instead of breastmilk in the afternoon. She has a stainless steel water bottle she will drink it from but she has big sips instead of drinking it in one go. How long could I leave it in there before needing to chuck it

I would have thought a couple of hours would be fine.

Beware any bottles that have a a sucky sort of spout. The sugars in milk can be responsible for tooth decay in young children if they have sips here and there as it means the teeth are constantly coated with milk for the duration of the bottle being drunk and spout type tops compound this I believe.

Get an insulated bottle that keeps it cold eg sho, and I’d say 12hours

Thank you! It's more of straw than a spout but I will try and get her to drink out of a cup when she's a bit bigger

How old is she? Id just give it to her in a cup.

She's 14months, I've tried a cup but she's not got the hang of it yet

When I give DS2 cow's milk instead of breastfeeding it's in a cup. We sometimes do those 360 cups so they are easy to clean or an open cup. He seems to like the novelty of it being in a cup, which adds to the desirability of it.

I usually chuck it after a couple of hours if he hasn't finished it but I am a bit forgetful - it seems OK for a good half a day before it starts to go manky. If left any longer than that it's not nice.

Because of the potential for spills and smells I do try to take it away fairly quickly if he doesn't finish it.
