How do you do an online party for a nine yo? What's the entertainment

I can set up a zoom link of course, but the bit I don't know is what they are supposed to do on it? Is a 9yo too old for games?

Someone tell me the answer as she really wants it. I want to just take her bowling at some point but I guess it might not be soon...

My son really enjoys the treasure hunts that his teacher does. It's one thing that really works over Zoom.

How many kids?

Mine are 11 and have had a watch party where they all watch the same movie together and commented in a chat thread and done one where they played jackbox games. The movie worked okay but they all got a bit bored and the jackbox one seemed to work well but was fairly short (under an hour IIRC). And, of course, they’re a couple of years older.

Something their school has done relatively successfully is a scavenger hunt.

There's computer games you can all play together?

We've done playing computer games online together using house party to chat. Worked really well - gave birthday girl extra robux to buy and she was able to gift her friends little things somehow. Don't really understand that bit!

My DD attended a zoom party for her friend's 9th recently. They had a drama teacher facilitating some games. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

You could hire a goat to join in as a surprise. Just Google goat zoom. We had this for a staff meeting.

Treasure hunt sounds good you could also make up activity packs/quizzes and drop them off beforehand.

I used to teach children's yoga, could you look up a local kids teacher (yoga/drmam/dance) and see if they offer an online birthday package? It's something I would have done if someone asked in these circumstances.

*drama obviously

Some really great ideas thanks. Scavenger hunt is good. We have some other games from church group but I thoughtvmaybe 9 might find that babyish? We don't do computer games here so I wouldn't know where to start.

She said also some music and then they just use chat. Sounds awful but Grin

You can do online escape rooms for kids. Or online bingo with prizes for the first to get a line and a full house followed by chat? People round here drop off party bags the night before and then everyone sings happy birthday and eats their cake together virtually.
