NC for this one

What would you do? Confess? Pretend you don't know why it's not working? Quite new to the role so I'm feeling a bit scared. Done the bag of rice thing. Now charging and praying. Fml 🤦‍♀️

Delta and Toddler maybe it isn't so bad then 😂 Luckily I don't own a company car or anything more expensive. Lesson learnt (again!)

@PPNC

Don’t use it!! I’ve dropped mine in water far more than I should have. Switch off instantly 24hrs in rice, no problem.

If you didn’t switch it off you’re fucked Grin

Just tell them you dropped it in the sink, it’s a co phone, shit happens.

I already used it. Fml 🤦‍♀️

It's times like this, that I'm so pleased I don't have a thigh gap!! The amount of times I've been thumbing through Mumsnet when I've nipped for a wee and dropped my phone is unbelievable. Thankfully I have plenty of fat to prevent it falling through. Did have a near miss once during the rare time it was actually in my back pocket. Fell out but luckily it hit the edge of the toilet seat and ended up on the floor. Same can't be said though for my old Samsung phone that slipped out my hand, skidded across the path through a gap in the harbour wall and down it went Of course I go and pick a day the tides fully in to do that other wise I could've nipped down the stairs and grabbed the bloody thing. Bloody loved that phone too!!

I put my last Samsung in the washing machine for a thirty minute cycle and it miraculously recovered after a week of tired and gentle warmth.

Rice not tired

Ginspiration · 03/03/2021 23:56

I ran my A20 over twice and it still worked.. there is hope!

There is hope then. Fingers crossed! I'll let you know if I'm sacked tomorrow 🤦‍♀️

DH put his through a 20 min wash and it survived.

As pp's have said don't switch it in until it's totally dry. It's the water/electricity combo that fries them not the drenching.

Just keep changing the rice and keep it somewhere warm.

As for work just say it was on the kitchen worktop as you were washing your hands (good COVID habit) and accidentally knocked it in. Tell them you rescued it quickly and put it in rice. It was an accident and you've done your best to sort it.

As it's a Samsung you might be in luck. Mine survived a very quick dip in the loo having slid out of my back pocket. I took as much of it as I could apart and after 48 hours in a tub of rice it's absolutely fine.
