Favourite not swear words...

I have been out of work for rather a long time and am to return in September. During the time I have been off my internal filter seems to have muted itself and I find myself swearing much more freely than I ever have.
Fortunately, I have six months to rectify this and I would like to try to retrain my brain a little in this time to perhaps find some better words to convey my emotions.
I will be working with children. I need to fix this unfortunate side effect. Any non offensive exclamations are very welcome

TheQueef · 03/03/2021 07:05

Rhubarb.
Cats alive.
Gordon Bennet.
Spoon.
Frangipan.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 03/03/2021 07:43

Balderdash! (Good substitute for ‘bollocks!)

Of course it’s been tainted by Boris, but ‘Crikey!’ is a bit better than ‘Fuck me!’

Significantown · 03/03/2021 07:50

I like chicken and cheese. Both excellent inoffensive curse words. Especially if said with force.

Sittinbythetree · 03/03/2021 07:51

Rats!
Cripes!

RickOShay · 03/03/2021 07:52

Shut the front door

IAcceptCookies · 03/03/2021 08:55

My MIL used to do a surprisingly effective “blooming” when she was angry/ indignant; all emphasised and drawn out.
I adopted it when I became a parent, and needed a similar linguistic cleanup to you!

Camomila · 03/03/2021 08:56

DS1 is 4 and says "oh biscuits" in the same tone I would say "bother"

CaviarAndCigarettes · 03/03/2021 11:04

Thanks for the tips! I try to use oh sugar Lumps but ffs falls out more often than I'd like!
I'm practising!

Blow, if you fancy a touch of Enid Blyton.

ChocOrange1 · 03/03/2021 12:20

I used to say "blimey" a lot as a teacher, and "crumbs" or "crikey"
Mu daughter is 4 and she says "climey" Grin

Wooliesandcoles · 03/03/2021 12:22

Far out!
Far out man!
I’m in Australia and this seems to be what everyone says 😊

Chunkymenrock · 03/03/2021 12:25

Darn it!

muddyford · 03/03/2021 12:33

Heavens!
My goodness!
Blimey, crikey, crumbs.
Widening the scope to while driving, I favour 'prong'. Sounds very rude but obviously isn't.

Lamentations · 03/03/2021 15:28

Good Grief is a much repeated phrase here. I still say Fuck a lot though.

sueelleker · 03/03/2021 16:53

dawnc27 · 03/03/2021 17:00
