I want to invest in some really good quality , non stick, flat baking/roasting trays. Any recommendations?

I've recently bought Lakeland blue bakeware. I've now realised at the age of 53 that cheap "non stick" hardware bought in the past was false economy.

Gilead · 28/02/2021 18:38

I second Lakeland blue. Bought some when I moved house a couple of years ago and they’re still as new!

RoseLavenderBlue · 28/02/2021 19:08

I have bought some really good ones from The Range recently. They do a rose gold range which doesn’t stick and cleans really well. Also I have another heavy one, kind of a black/ blue colour, so far so good! Decided the days of buying cheap baking trays are over too!

Le Creuset ones are excellent.

RandomMess · 28/02/2021 19:12

The premium range in Sainsbury is really good not cheap! I buy on offer.

BobbinAround · 28/02/2021 19:16

Prestige heavy gauge ones have been great. We used to be forever replacing baking trays.

EternalOptimist7 · 28/02/2021 19:33

Are The Range blue/black ones sparkly? I work at The Range so get a generous discount 🙂

YY The Sainsbury ones
Heavyweight , very dark grey with the label dark purple

I buy on offer unless I really want an item straight away .

RoseLavenderBlue · 28/02/2021 20:59

@EternalOptimist7 Yes, they are black with blue sparkles! I didn’t realise when I bought it, but noticed it in the kitchen light at home. Quite heavy and lots of ridges to keep its shape.

EternalOptimist7 · 28/02/2021 21:40

roselavenderblue thank you

I'm not a fan of the Lakeland ones but I might have been unlucky. Mine don't seem mega non-stick and I had the coating peel off two of them (which they did replace to be fair), but didn't make me think they were the holy grail of kitchenware.

EntropyBanana · 28/02/2021 22:00

I've never bought better than Stellar bakeware. It's brilliant.

Acovic · 28/02/2021 22:06

I've got a prestige heavy duty tray that has been great and my roasting tins is a 15 yr old Sainsbury's Taste the Difference one that is still supremely functional.

When things re-open Tk Maxx is good for this sort of stuff.

LoveFall · 28/02/2021 22:09

I have Circulon. They are great

MaggieFS · 28/02/2021 22:20

Don't get the Sainsbury's ones. I have them too, heavyweight feel with the dark purple label. Sorry to disagree with pp, but they don't sit flat. They warp. I'm so annoyed because they aren't even cheap as chips. I've got two sizes of baking trays, two of each, and they all do it.

burblish · 28/02/2021 22:21

I second the recommendation of Le Creuset - definitely not cheap, but they’re so good.

piperatthegates · 28/02/2021 22:25

Pyrex asimetria baking trays and roasting trays are the best I have ever used (not glass by the way despite being Pyrex). Really good non stick and clean like a dream. I wouldn't buy anything else now. Not cheap but worth every penny.

LoveFall · 01/03/2021 00:19

circulon.com/products/total-nonstick-cookie-pan

These are the circulon ones they are a good weight and don't warp. The swirly surface makes them very non stick.

Shopaholic100 · 01/03/2021 00:49

I have been using my Tefal baking trays regularly for over 22 years they are excellent. Circlon are also great but have the lines. The worst in my experience were the Pyrex trays, they were like super glue even though they were non stick.

BarbaraofSeville · 01/03/2021 03:01

I really like the scoville ones. They're actually quite cheap and often on offer at Asda. Also sold in Argos, Matalan etc.

They feel really good quality and are a breeze to clean after a soak with hot water and a squirt of washing up liquid. I've had more expensive bakeware in the past and it's been a lot harder to clean and I came to resent it.

Yes it might last a lifetime but you're setting yourself up for a lifetime of feeling obliged to look after it because it was expensive and I'm done with that. We have several scoville pans and trays.

It says it's dishwasher safe but that will reduce the life of the non stick, but I only put the cooking pot in the dishwasher, I do the trays by hand. The cooking pot is wearing a little on the outside, but it's still in good condition and has been used and dishwashed multiple times a week for a few years.

Prestige and Stellar have been good for me, the heavier the better. I've also got an amazing deep roasting tin from JL which is cast iron and induction hob compatible (so I can make the gravy!). I've also got some Aga branded stuff (from my short stint as an Aga owner), which has also been excellent.
