Is anyone else's house showing a lot of wear and tear

I guess it's because everything happens indoors now. We have very active teenagers who would normally be at school and then at football training or football matches, and they are ricocheting around the house instead. DH would normally be away at least a couple of nights a fortnight or working at the office but he's always here too. I would roughly reckon that we've had around 5 normal years of wear and tear in just one year of mostly lockdown. Everything is looking a bit tired, stained or damaged.

Since he was about 6, not 16, he's 16 now.

Sofa is looking like it's had a tough year.

Hallway carpet is looking a bit grubby from muddy walks.

Hallway walls have a few mud stains from where my boyfriend has carried his muddy bike in.

Windows not looking great when the sun shines in.

Christmas tree is still up Blush

...everywhere else looks okay though Grin

Grin I assume that your Christmas tree is artificial, not real, otherwise you'd just have bare branches at this stage.

I work in a diy store.... business has been booming all year

Yeah, paint looks awful, even if worse in this fresh spring light, door came off its hinges today.

Yes and it's also a bit of a shit hole.

I don't worry so much about the decoration but with me FT WFH, DH shiftwork outside. Two teens here FT. The amount of mess dirty dishes washing has gone mad.

We used to have a cleaner and made it tidy weekly for her...

Yeah it's a bit of a pit.

Oh well. These things can all be sorted at some unspecified point in the future Smile

Yes- the walls in the hall/kitchen are marked with DC speeding up and down and around kitchen island on ride on toys. The relatively new sofa has taken a beating from the gazillion times a day it doubles as a den. The utility is rivalling Everest with he weak crap, coats, boots, bloody crafting, playdough remnants and anything else I’m trying to hide from sight. The spare room needs deck uttering and the wooden floors and carpets need a professional clean. Actually a bulldozer. I’m sick of the sight of the place- and it’s only about 3 years since major building work!
