It's the canine and has broken off completely leaving nothing just I suppose the root at gumline. It looks awful what will the dentist do:(

From bitter experience, canines are bloody difficult to crown once broken at gum. Mine was pulled unfortunately. There's then a choice of denture or implant.

They might be able to save it though. Can you try the emergency dental care on 111?

It's not painful zo I suppose not a 111 call ? What did you do blast ?

Mine had some nerve exposed so it was painful so did do the emergency dentist. It was pulled, but my top wisdom teeth were coming though (I was a LOT younger and they thought that the new teeth were causing teeth movement) so I've now got a smaller gap which isn't overly noticeable.

One of my molar crowns is a bit fragile and if it breaks AGAIN, I've been quoted just under £300 on the NHS for a bridge (level 3), more for private and £2k for a private implant.

Really wish my dentist when I was young had sealed my fissures... Sad

Dentist here! Most likely you will need an extraction as there is not enough tooth left above the gum to do another crown. If it’s saveable, you would need to have a root canal done and ‘crown lengthening’ which is a gum surgery (private only) at a gum specialist who would cut away some of the gum to reveal more of the tooth so that they can crown it. They are would need to put a post inside the root to help hold it all together as well.

At least 3mm above the gum.
