Have you been to the hospital since COVID began?

I keep seeing threads where people have commented how the NHS is currently a COVID only service. Is this the case? Have you had procedures which have been cancelled etc with no sign of when the services will resume etc?
It sure how A&E functions but my guess is that if it’s life threatening and you are presented in A&E they have to treat you.

I’ve been to hospital for my regular clinic treatments several times, also for a scan. My clinic was closed for a while last summer though, which resulted in my being stuck in bed for a few months. Thankfully normal service resumed by autumn. Aside from treatment, my routine checkup appointments have been over the phone which isn’t ideal but it’s better than nothing, which is sadly what a lot of people are getting.

I've been to a&e and it was quiet and was seen very quickly. I also had an X-ray and mri appointments that were arranged very quickly and care was great and as normal, normal amount of people around for normal appointments as there usually would be I'd assume.

I've had various outpatients appointments, three scans, two emergency surgeries and a mammogram and everything was pretty much the same as before. However, neurology won't see anyone unless they think they might have a brain tumour, so although I was referred on an urgent basis in February 2020, I won't see anyone face to face until at least July 2021.

My rheumatology appointments have been via telephone since my last in-person visit in Dec 2019.
That’s worked out quite well for me as I can stay at work hide in a cupboard and just make sure I have the info required to hand. I’m always asked my weight and BP for med checks and I have a small BP machine and ok scales at home.

I had my last appointment at Moorfields Eye Centre (CUH) in February 2020.
After waiting 3 hours I had a ridiculous 2 minute talk and they referred me to a different hospital for all further check ups because I didn’t want to jump straight to surgery. Two follow ups were cancelled, completely understandable, and rescheduled for to happen at CUH next week. I didn’t think they’d be doing up close and personal appointments to be honest but I’m not querying it because I don’t want to have to get the bus to St George’s!
