Thanks to mumsnet I now know what this means
On one of the SNP threads a poster stated that Scotland could not join the EU because they have this system and that is one of the reasons why Turkey can't join
I've read around and can't find this written anywhere. Is it correct?

Given that the truth:bollocks ratio about the EU is about 10:90 in most forums, balance of probabilities makes me say no.

I have a vague memory Belgium is unicameral.

And if you really wanted to be picky so is the UK, since the House of Lords could not be less democratic if it was stuffed with Tory croniies. Oh it is.

I doubt if it is a reason. It is an academic question as Indy ref 2 will not happen whilst there is a Tory government in Westminster.

Belgian politics is very complicated. Even their national anthem is not in one language.

Not so sure the UK constitution is that transparent.

Malta is also unicameral (I checked because I couldn't imagine a place as tiny as Malta bothering with two houses).

90% of the political assertions I see on Mumsnet are bollocks.
