Does feeling cold make you feel uncomfortable or depressed?

This is probably going to sound silly but the cold is making me feel miserable.

Whenever I google it, it comes up with SAD or less day light hours as the cause but that’s not what causes it for me.

I was just sitting on the sofa and thought why do I feel so miserable, walked to the kitchen and my skin felt sore, like chap and I just felt very uncomfortable. I then noticed somebody had completely turned the heating off. It honestly causes me to be so depressed when I’m cold, is this normal, do others feel this severely about the actually feeling of being ‘cold’?

"The heating can be on full blast, I'm in bed under 2 duvets, electric blanket on, fleecy jamas and I still feel cold "inside" almost like running a temperature. It's a different feeling to being cold because the environment is cold, and it makes me so miserable because I just cannot warm up. The only way is a hot bath, and sometimes even that doesn't work."

Hmm. I think I get this and it's an accumulation of being cold.
I remember one summer evening being persuaded to sit outside when it was a bit too cold for me to be outside and not moving, maybe it was 19 degrees or something. I was just vaguely uncomfortable at the time and dealt with it by having a hot drink, but when I get home I remember just having extremely cold shins (I had been wearing tights!) for hours that I just couldn't warm up at all.

So it's been a lovely sunny day, and temp been ok, went for a walk, wrapped up well - all fine, but now I'm home and house is warm (adult DS in T shirt, joggers) but I just can't get warm, so gone to bed with 2 duvets, a wheat bag and thinking about putting electric blanket on. I really understand what PP means about being cold inside - I'm like that, even when my body feels warm to touch, I feel shivery inside.

Went for a lovely walk in the sunshine. Thick jumper, big coat etc. I decided to have an ice cream. Suddenly felt like the temperature dropped 15 degrees and I've come home to get under my heated blanket and duvet. Being that cold makes me feel ill and exhausted. DCs are running about in the garden in t shirts.

Thick jumper isn't always the best choice. Some people get along better with lots of layers instead. Can include a thick jumper as well of course. I saw a lot of people with ice cream this weekend, but decided I was cold enough already. Sounds like I made the right choice.

Same

Same here. It's rather odd really, because I've never been a fan of hot weather. I'm happy with temperatures at around 22 degrees. Anything more than 27 and I start to feel really uncomfortable. But as I've got older (I'm now 60) I've noticed I feel the cold a lot more. I've also lost quite a lot of weight over the last few years (7 stone) so maybe that has something to do with it. When I've been outside in the cold for any length of time,I notice that my stomach muscles hurt as I'm tensing myself against the cold. Most people I know don't seem to notice the low temperatures anywhere near as much as I do.

Both feeling too cold and feeling too hot (heat is worse) affect me this way, and very extremely. I have numerous autoimmune conditions and my rheumatologist tells me this is common. Worth getting a bloods panel done?

Oh, it's a fecking Zombie!!!

It does make me miserable and uncomfortable. I inadvertently tense up my neck to hunch myself up, trying to get warm, then I end up in pain as I have RA and osteoarthritis.

I love the cold, its the hot weather I dislike. I find the sun and heat oppressive.
