I made my 2021 debut today, a few weeks earlier than usual. A fair bit of sunshine and a stiff westerly breeze did the job. More to do tomorrow!

I’ve been doing my laundry magick as long as it’s windy enough

The smell is divine and will always beat indoor dried clothes

blowinahoolie · 25/02/2021 19:47

Yes. Monday.

H1978 · 25/02/2021 19:51

Not yet, still freezing here but hopefully in the next few weeks. I can’t wait tbh.

Ours goes out all year round. We're coastal, so benefit from a breeze all year.

museumum · 25/02/2021 20:06

I find it had to be over 6 or 7 deg to dry even if windy so this week was our first load outside since October.

justthecat · 25/02/2021 20:08

3 loads today , love it. So sad when u get excited collapsing the clothes horse 😂

Kpo58 · 25/02/2021 20:09

Nope as my garden gets little wind is still in shade this time of the year.

MrsTophamHat · 25/02/2021 20:23

Treating myself to a rotary this month!

PaperMonster · 25/02/2021 20:42

Have managed to get washing out for about the last three weeks. Currently cuddled up in my fluffy dressing gown which has been out on the line today and feels extra fluffy for having been blown about!!

RoomAtTheEndOfTheWorld · 25/02/2021 21:15

Not yet, could have this week with the weather but neighbours who back on to us are having their garden landscaped and currently no fence in between us and them so lots of sawdust, concrete dust etc coming over so didn't want to waste my time and have to rewash it again Angry

MarshaBradyo · 25/02/2021 21:16

Yes a few times

zen1 · 25/02/2021 21:18

Mine goes out every day bar torrential rain (have a lot of washing!). Even in the recent cold snap, it freeze-dried nicely.

Moonface123 · 25/02/2021 21:22

I hang my washing out on the line all.year long, if it's still damp l finish it off in the airing cupboard. I don't have a tumbledryer, l much prefer drying it outdoors.

thenightsky · 25/02/2021 21:22

Yes. About once a week here in Lincolnshire. Although yesterday was so windy, I nearly lost my duvet cover over the fence! Today's line full dried in 2 hours.

megletsecond · 25/02/2021 21:26

Mine goes out all year round (Hampshire). My tumble dryer only gets used a few times a year now my kids are teens.

Even if it's not sunny a breeze will take the edge off and blow creases away. It can always dry off on the airer.

FallingStar · 25/02/2021 21:26

I just bought new pegs today!
Can't wait to get mine out.

megletsecond · 25/02/2021 21:27

zen I love frozen washing. Turning the tops upside down so the sleeves stand up.

dementedma · 25/02/2021 21:29

No tumble drier so it goes out all year round.

WildRosie · 25/02/2021 21:43

The humble washing line and clothes peg. Where would we be without them ?

Which pegs are best ? I inherited about two-dozen wooden spring pegs from the previous occupant of my home and I'm still using them more than twenty years later. I find they grip the line better than their plastic equivalents. Traditional dolly pegs are also good.

This must be the brandy talking...

Several times. I stick it over a clothes horse overnight once I’ve brought it in to get the last of the dampness off.

Makes such a difference to my washing situation being able to get it out.

Curlygirl06 · 25/02/2021 21:50

Mine goes on an airer and goes outside every day, no matter what the weather. We've got an awning out the back and it goes out under there on the patio. I've been known to brush the snow off the patio to make room for the airer, people think I'm mad! Dries most days.

SmellsLikeAHamsterCage · 25/02/2021 22:10

Yes, I would have been able to peg it out at the weekend, but, that morning I'd checked on my garden cctv and saw a fox spray at the base of (and who knows how far up) my folded down, rotary washing line.

I can't bring myself to touch it and open it up. Yes, I know I need to wash it first, I can't bring myself to do that either.

The fox was very cute though, despite his unwelcome spraying.

Yes! Yesterday and today! I was so pleased! I love the smell of air dried laundry and it will save on the electricity bill.

longtompot · 25/02/2021 23:16

Yesterday! It was lovely. Lime dried smell, no bonfires anywhere. Just finished off in the tumble drier for half an hour. Love line dried clothes.
