With no driving lessons around has anyone got recommendations for how to stick to the guidelines while taking teen learners out? I have found a teach your learner book online - anyone any experience with this?

I taught both my Children to drive. We started off in big carparks for the basics (clutch control, stopping and starting and basic reversing etc). Then they had a couple of lessons with an instructor to get them used to the rules of the road before I took out separate learner insurance and took them on the roads myself.
They drove daily all over with me sat in the passenger seat while still having x1 weekly driving lesson with an instructor. Both passed very quickly. Saved a small fortune.
Learner insurance was approx £24 per month and can be cancelled whenever.

Fabulous - I kind of do that with one dd though she has also had loads of lessons. Just the youngest is champing at the bit and can't get lessons for ages. Insurance is about 75 a month each too. Thanks for replying!

At the moment youre not supposed to be doing driving lessons, but it's fine to let your learner driver drive on an essential journey. So DH and DD have been to the supermarket, to the chicken feed shop, to fill the car up with petrol, to the cashpoint etc etc.

£75 per month? Blimey. I paid £100 deposit and then £24 a month, that was with Collingwood.
Yeah deffo only essential journeys at the moment with a learner. It states that on Government website.
