Strained lower back, any tips?

I pulled something in my back on Thursday and the pain is awful. I've tried ibuprofen, heat packs, ice packs, voltarol. I've been doing some stretching exercises.I'm only comfortable lying down but I've two kids and I can't do that.
The house is turning into a shit tip because I can bend down. What can I take to stop it hurting, I don't want to go to the doctor as I know they are busy but I can't think of what to do.
Any tips?

Youtube exercises for back pain, muscle relaxants,

when it's better, figure out what triggers it, and strengthen your tum muscles so it can't happen again

If it doesn't improve soon then deffo call the doctor and get referral to an osteopath or physio. They can make it feel much better. Keep taking the ibuprofen and you could try icing it. Keep moving otherwise it will seize up. Gentle walking and stretching will really help. If you have to bend down then use a hand for support or try to just bend your legs.

And when it's better do regular core exercises, otherwise it will probably just keep happening (mine did).

Thanks so much, I ended up going to the doctor. Have to go for a scan. They gave me difene injection and diazepam injection and tramadol. Bit nervous about tramadol.. anyone taken it before?

Tramadol makes me a bit stoned.
I'm fine, don't zonk out or anything just a bit disassociated. So I can cook safely but I wouldn't drive for example.
Solpadeine also does this to me, so if your fine on Solpadeine probably be fine on the Tramadol.
Top tip for new meds your unsure of is take them before you go to bed. If they do zonk you out your going to sleep anyway.
Hope you feel better soon Flowers

Oh my God they are amazing. Think I slept for 10 hours and I never do that. Feel nice and floaty.

Glad the meds worked OP and glad to hear your doc is taking it seriously. DH had Tramadol for a badly broken leg, it made him hallucinate and he stopped taking it. But he's very sensitive to meds. His mate offered to take the Tramadol 'off his hands' Hmm...
