They should contact you with regards to becoming his appointee. You don't have to anything. They will send you a letter. Pre covid they sent someone out ..it was literally a 10 minute visit to ascertain that you (and your son) were happy for this. I suspect it will be phone call now!

My ds2 has ASD, OCD etc and it was very straightforward.

PIP form is long and laborious..the difference is it doesn't matter WHAT his diagnoses are but how they affect him.. basically in my son's form I did a comparison..what I have to do for him that a 'typical' 16 yr old would be able to do if they didn't have his disabilities. I type out the questions and answers and staple all the extra sheets on with his data at the top. It maybe I just bored them into awarding it Grin but I nreally think that giving as much info as possible is crucial... for example I didn't just say 'due to his Asd DS2 can't catch the bus' but 'DS2 has poor road awareness , and has been knocked down once and several near misses' As a result he is only abe to make one bus journey independently with a carer putting him on and off the bus'.. I made it clear what he COULD do but ony when supported. I did the whole form that way.
Oh AND I photocopied it! Just incase it went AWOL!
