Painful joints when getting up. Why did it stop/start?

I've found for about the last year so that if I sit or lie down for any length of time, my legs/feet are really painful and I hobble around for the first minute or so when getting up.

In mid-50s and take medication (Letrozole) which can stiffen your joints and so have always assumed it's a combination of those factors. I also usually do a lot of walking - usually around 13-15,000 steps a day.

What is really interesting is that I've just had Covid and so was isolating from the rest of the family in my bedroom for 11 days. Spent the vast majority of the time sitting/lying on the bed and I was absolutely fine when I stood up.

Came out of isolation yesterday and started walking again and I've just got up and I'm in pain and hobbling all over again.

Is there something else going on? Anyone else have this problem?

Yes me and I'm 43.

Its mainly in my feet and ankles and lower back. As soon as I start walking it wears off and I'm good again.
Also have a very achy lower back when standing still..its fine when walking. No idea what thats about!

Same re feet and ankles, noticed it got significantly better in the first lockdown when I was doing very little.

I've found glucosamine sulphate stops it.

Vitamin D worked for me - I had exactly the same problem

Cheap and effective. 2 a day in winter and 1 in summer - unless I've had some time in the sun. Great for your immune system too. Research it.

Something like this - plenty of others, you can also get spray or drops

Vitamin D3

I've been taking 3000iu of Vit D for many years, I can't think that my hair loss would have been worse without it!

Sorry, wrong thread! But actually, same applies, it's done nothing for my joints.

Thanks.
I do take Vit D already because the medication can cause bone problems but I'll try the glucosamine sulphate too.
