My son has painted the cat

I think he painted her yesterday. She's a big cuddly white cat, the boys love her to pieces. But this morning I saw that she's turned blue and pink. It's doesn't look like paint though - the fur has changed colour rather than there being excess product on her. She's very happily asleep on my bed upstairs, but just a different colour to normal.

We were painting yesterday so I'm assuming my two yr old has tried to pick her up with painted hands.

I assume she has groomed herself clean of the paint but the stain has remained. I would ring your vet to check if they think she needs to be seen.

Food colouring?

Felt tip rather than paint?

Did the cat sleep on a wet painting?

I painted my white cat some pink stripes when I was small. I wanted her to look like Bagpuss

One of ours has wiped her side on wet white satinwood TWICE when we were painting woodwork and she bypassed the anti-cat security. Bizarrely, it was over a decade ago and she still has both white patches - her fur changed colour. It would be quite interesting if that happened with yours

This.

Although non-toxic water based children's paints should be fine.

Could it be chalk transferred from his hands, rather than paint?
