Parkdean / Haven with direct beach access in England?

Have you found any sites with easy beach access? Last time we went it was such a steep and craggy path it was terrifying to trek down! I have a toddler so would prefer a bit of an easier walk this time.

I won't do Wales or Scotland, love them but I'm not risking the holisay if they end up with different regional restrictions to the UK for covid.

I reckon you will all suggest the South coast like Devon and Cornwall but we are in the Midlands so it's a bit far with a toddler, he isn't patient in the car at the best of times! (I know, I want the moon on a stick!) Grin

Coopers beach (Essex)

Visit every year with my family

Beachfront and a longer beach to the side you can have a really long walk along the beach there and parks / fields a bit further up too .

My grandparents used to have a chalet on this site when I was a child all since been knocked down for statics but it’s a great family environment very clean and the staff are lovely .

Devon cliffs. There is a slope but not that bad!

No idea who owns it, but Pentewan Sands, outside of St. Austell is lovely and right on the the beach.

Haven Thorpe Park in Lincolnshire

Just looked it up: it’s an independent. Just lovely, the setting is glorious.

flatpack1 · 15/02/2021 20:26

Caister Haven is right on the beach.

St Osyth Holiday Park, huntleys caravan park and martello beach holiday park are all in Seawick, on the Essex coast. The beach is almost flat in terms of walking to it. It is near Jaywick (not the nicest town) but you could walk or drive to Clacton which has a pier with rides and the usual, tacky, amusement shops. The beach is very clean with nice sand. You can also hire beach huts along the coast.

I was coming on to say Caister also! Love the park and Great Yarmouth. Direct access from the park to a beach and it’s lovely and sandy.

Dancetherain · 15/02/2021 20:29

Haven Caister on sea. Caravans practically on the beach. The one closer to great Yarmouth is also quite easy to get to the beach but not as close. We are in the Midlands and it takes about 3 hours.

Whoops, cross post!

Another vote for caister. Lovely beach and was really quiet

Rockley Park in Poole? Charmouth in Dorset has a site on the beach - Seadown Park. It's on the hoseasons website.

Camber and New Romney have good beach access.

Some great ideas here, thank you everyone! I've done a few price checks and I think Haven will be too much of a stretch this year so I'm stuck with Parkdean this time.

Waterside in Weymouth is my go-to to accommodate wheelchair using dh and entertaining children across a variety of ages.

We stayed at Parkdean Cresswell Towers in Northumberland last year. Short walk to the beach (maybe 5 mins) but all on the same level, no cliffs or similar.

I think Park Resorts own Golden Sands which is very close by and nearer the beach.

Haven in Hayle

morenachos · 15/02/2021 21:36

Holywel Bay in Cornwall has direct access on to a breathtaking beach.

MegBusset · 15/02/2021 21:37

I would look at Norfolk from the Midlands - Searles in Hunstanton is good (we went when DC were toddlers) or you could go over Great Yarmouth way - Haven Hopton is nice, can't vouch for the local Parkdean sites but our neighbours have a van at California Cliffs or you could look at Kessingland.
