Just musing about getting a nearly new i10. Anybody have one? Good?

Thank you

I've had mine for four years from nearly new and love it. I'm going to keep it for the next ten years or so as it's just ideal, being cheap to tax, roomy enough if I have to take the teens out( rare) and small enough to get into little car spaces on my terraced road.

GaraMedouar · 14/02/2021 14:06

That’s the car I’ve been thinking of - also looking at the Dacia (as it’s the cheapest ) .
@kerkyra - which engine do you have? I think I’d want the higher one just for a bit more power

Yes I've got one that's six years old. I absolutely love it and will be buying another, newer model later this year.

My dd has had one for eight yrs, it's been a good little car.

HamSandwichKiller · 14/02/2021 14:12

Had one for just over a year.
Noisy on the motorway. It's a small car so not surprising. Ideal for city driving and finding a car parking space. Boot size not bad considering either

AmelieTaylor · 14/02/2021 14:14

I had a rental one for a couple of months between cars. I really liked it, fabulous to
park! But, unfortunately, it's not big enough for me to ferry the kids around, especially teens with PE Kits, instruments etc snd I didn't bother to try putting the buggy in it.

But it was nice to drive. Much better than the Peugeot I rented fir a month or so.

Bought mine in 2013 when DS was learning to drive. We shared it while he was in the 6th form and at uni. Served me well when I was commuting 200 miles each week when working away.
Then passed it onto DS in 2017 when he started work with a long commute. He's passed it on to his GF last year. Hardly cost us anything other than servicing and MOTs. GF has been looking at trading up to the newer model but the WHICH reports aren't very positive for it.

kerkyra · 14/02/2021 14:27

It's a 1.2l I think?
Shoots along at 60/70 on a motorway with ease 😃

Sosigsandwich · 14/02/2021 14:45

I bought a new one in 2019 and absolutely love it. Surprisingly room too.

BlackBrowedAlbatross · 14/02/2021 14:54

I had one of these which I loved, so small you can park them anywhere. But the head gasket went at only 30k miles and caused such damage before it was clear there was something wrong that it couldn't be fixed and went for scrap. Mechanic said it's a known issue for Hyundai, but maybe newer models are better.

Serena1977 · 14/02/2021 14:55

Well, dh is on the phone now to buy it after all your responses. Thank you all so much!

we have an 11 year old one - surprisingly nippy and very reliable. Bought it when the government were doing the £2000 discount on diesel trade-ins. For the price, the build quality was much better than the other small cars. Could also seat a 6 foot 4 driver easily. Presuming that the newer models are even better :)

CatRamsey · 14/02/2021 15:08

I have a i10 Go SE and I love it!! I've only had it just over a year but can't see myself changing it for a long time

Maybemay123 · 14/02/2021 15:39

I had several over the years, great cars. I only got rid of mine when I needed a wheelchair and it wouldn't fit in (I miss driving it). I don't know single person who has bought one and regretted it.
