Any Americans around?

Or anybody who has used the American care system.
I have recently been diagnosed with a DVT.
And the care I got at my (uk) hospital was fantastic.
I was curious as to what it would have cost in a paying system, such as the states.
One emergency admission and check up at local small hospital.
One trip to a and e in bigger hospital.
Admission on to major injuries ward
One set of blood tests
One ECG
One ant- clotting injection
(One giant bruise as a freebie!)
One course of antibiotics

Next day...
One admission to main hospital
One leg and groin scan
Several wheelchair "taxis " to different wards
One pair of flight socks
One box of anticoagulant tablets
One chest cray
Several examinations

It’s not standard and it depends on the type of insurance if you have any. Some people will need to pay the excess, some people opt for 20/80 where they pay 20% of costs.

Depends on what hospital, what insurer and what your co-pay/ deductible is.

Dvt treatment is really expensive and not uncommon and a huge costs burden on the NHS for that reason. I’d be worried about the costs without insurance in the US if the treatment pattern were the same.

It's completely impossible to estimate. There is no centralised cost of care in the US, every hospital sets their own rates. And then if you had insurance, it would depend on what your insurance would pay for. A night in hospital alone would cost probably at least $4000, that's without medications and procedures. How much of that your insurance would pay would be completely variable. Many would probably pay 80%, but it's hard to say.

That said, years ago (I don't live in the US anymore) I was working overseas in a lower income country with comparatively cheap healthcare. I got ill, needed an xray, 3 night stay in hospital, private hospital, private room with tv and en suite, all meals including tea and biscuits twice a day, even dh could order meals. Needed IV antibiotics, oxygen, etc. I paid $500 for my entire hospital bill on discharge (no insurance). When I came home and saw my doctor in the US, I needed some follow up care, so I had to show her all my records. Her response was, 'you sure were lucky you got in sick a developing country!'. That hospital stay would have probably cost me $20,000+ in the US (how much of that my not very good insurance would have paid at the time, I don't know). I was, in fact, very grateful I got sick living overseas.

Ah, ok.
A lot a variety then.
Assume I have no insurance as I am a foreigner with no knowledge of this system
