Random question for Jewish mumsnetters

Sorry if this seems random!
I’m composing a message to somebody I used to be very very close to and was a huge part of my life, we never fell out as such so there’s no bad feelings really.
The person is Jewish and their culture/faith used to be a big thing, they taught me a lot. I’m planning to send the message tomorrow evening (Thursday evening), would it be odd to say ‘Shabbat shalom for tomorrow’ as the sign off of the message? Would that only be appropriate if the message was sent on a Friday morning? I remember doing shabbos on Friday evenings through to Saturday evening with them and cannot ever remember saying it on a Thursday ‘for tomorrow’.

It would seem a bit weird to me, as if you’re trying too hard. Shabbat shalom is said actually on Shabbat, so Friday evening to Saturday evening.

I'm not Jewish but I also keep the Jewish Shabbat, Friday evening to Saturday evening. It would seem a bit weird to me to receive that message on Friday morning, more weird on Thursday!

After lunchtime on Friday during winter would be okay, as that's when preparation for Shabbat starts in my house. I've been known for texting my mum with a last-minute question to a recipe which needs to be finished by X time, only to sign off with 'Happy Sabbath' (which is what we use) - but only a couple of hours before the actual sunset. We do it a lot in my family as we're all preparing during those last few hours, so we know everyone one is in the some pre-celebratory mood.

It's a nice gesture OP and I wouldn't mind at all if I received that greeting from a friend, regardless of the day and time, really.
