Gloves for 8 year old with sensitive skin

Could anyone recommend gloves for my 8 year old DS who is really suffering at the moment with sore hands. The frost makes the back of his hands red and sore. Today he came home from school bleeding from one spot as the skin cracked. I do ask him to try to put cream on but because they have to wash/sanitise hands a lot at school his hands really suffer. I am hoping that some warm gloves might help but I haven't found any that would be good for school (ski gloves aren't really good for wearing at lunch breaks). I really feel for the little guy.

Silk gloves from somewhere like Decathlon online will protect his hands and may be used to line another pair of gloves if necessary. Bamboo cycling gloves are another option, think the brand is Sundried. Just wash them if you're using with cream underneath.

You need silk gloves like this ones www.mountainwarehouse.com/au/silk-gloves-p11840.aspx/ that you wear under wool or other regular gloves.
Then at home, you need to do some deep moisturising. I doubt he would be in for it, but maybe while he watches some tv, he would agree to a ton of cream and then putting these gloves on www.bustle.com/p/the-5-best-gloves-for-moisturizing-hands-8707460
to repair his hands, this cream is great www.elizabetharden.com.au/product/111/Eight-Hour-Cream-Skin-Protectant/ you only need less than a pea size

You need omega 3 capsules mixture must come from within, silk gloves then wool over the top

Thank you for the suggestions. You are all in agreement! I will get silk gloves and introduce a moisturising "spa" time. Might do the same myself!

Is he drying his hands properly every time he washes them? DS gets this and it gets worse when he doesn’t dry/rinse the soap off well.

I don’t know why ski gloves would be impractical at break time? My DC wear them as do most of the other kids at this time of year.

When they’re bad, I put a thick layer of hand cream on and tape a gauze over them for the night. Couple of nights is usually enough.

Good point about drying his hands properly. I will talk to him about that. He doesn't like the ski gloves for school as he "can't play King's corner" in them (I don't know...some ball game they play). Maybe it is the type of gloves he has. They are quite bulky and just with the thumb detached. I have just bought the Burts Bees hand balm as I know he never had a reaction to their creams.

Oh, then I understand! DS won't wear mittens, but he will wear gloves.

Slightly different angle, but I have had this with sensitive skin. One thing that has really improved things for me is using soap and shampoo that does not contain sodium lauryl sulfate. This is a harsh detergent in most cleansers that caused my skin to go dry and crack.
Obviously there is nothing you can do about the type of soap used at school, but perhaps try SLS free soap at home, just to give his skin a break.
Gloves will help protect against the cold weather, but you might find that SLS free soap helps too. It made a massive difference to me after many years of trying all sorts.
Extra hand washing and hand-san at the moment do dry my hands out too, and moisturiser can help a bit.

I’ve just bought some gloves from Muddy Puddles for my dd, for a similar reason. They’re in the sale, and they’re waterproof. They do come up big, though, I can fit into the age 10-12 ones!

The issue may be that school only allows one piece of (thin) paper towel per child, so he can’t effectively dry his hands.
