Hi,

Pleaseeeee can you tell me your favourite nursing shoe?

I'm a student starting on a busy ward next week and I'm 12 weeks pregnant so I'm really going for comfort.

I was about to order toffeln shoe, looked ideal with great reviews but they've become out of stock in my size.

Any help is muchly appreciated xx

Following. I’m a student ODP and I’ve got tofflien clogs.

My feet hurt so much!

ClockworkNightingale · 06/02/2021 20:17

Bought crocs Mercy Work for my theatre placement (the communal clogs are a special kind of agony), they came out again at the beginning of covid and I'll probably carry on with them for the foreseeable. A bit sweaty but very squidgy inside, and I can dip them in actichlor without fear.

It’s a long time since I’ve been ward based but we all used to wear these. Echo soft shoes - not at all fashionable but so comfy.

Sketchers, hands down sketchers.

YouWontBelieveYourEyes · 06/02/2021 20:25

Skechers. They are so comfy.

RancidOldHag · 06/02/2021 20:27

Clarks Funny Dream (the new version of the old polyvelts). Unbelievably comfortable

Sketchers go walk.

Stinkywizzleteets · 06/02/2021 20:37

My partner swears by oofos clogs but they do shoes as well

StillUpholding · 06/02/2021 20:47

Another vote for Skechers. Had my current go walks for 3 years and they look like new but feel like slippers.

I’m a ward based AHP and it’s sketchers trainers all the way!!

I don’t think our nursing staff are allowed to wear trainers though, which I think is a bit unfair as they’re on their feet just as much, if not more than we are.

Lost seem to have these type of shoe.

When I was ward based Skechers, they do work ones,

Now I have oofos. They look so ugly but all theatre clogs are! I have plantar fasciitis and these have stopped my back and feet hurting so much

Whatishappenin · 06/02/2021 21:00

My daughter’s a nurse. Skechers Go Walk are the only ones that didn’t hurt her feet during long shifts.

supafish · 06/02/2021 21:45

I've had Clark's in the past but at the moment am wearing sketchers go walk ! So comfortable after a 12 hour shift x

Iworkhardforaliving · 21/07/2021 22:31

I use Calzuro Light Clogs, very comfortable when you're on your feet all day, and very light and easy to clean

My DD wears black Nike airs, the leather ones. Long shifts, and says they are very comfortable

oliviaMill · 30/07/2021 09:02

I've tried three different types of nursing shoes, and after some time has passed, for now I can say for sure that there is nothing better than Alegria nursing shoes. They are comfortable, flexible and durable enough and has a memory foam lining. You can take a look at this content to read more about them and to compare them with maybe some other models of nursing shoes.

ZealAndArdour · 30/07/2021 09:08

I wear black trainers. Currently got a nice black New Balance pair with a small leopard trim. Previous pair before that were NB, and the ones before that were Nike Air Max.

Student uniform policy probably doesn’t allow for trainers though does it, are crocs allowed? They’re very comfortable.

Tinkerbellfluffyboots79 · 30/07/2021 09:13

I wear NB trainers too, students wear similar Nikes seem to be the go to for most of the staff on my ward. I have flat feet and crap legs so need something that doesn’t hurt me. Good luck op, hope your placement goes well
