How many health & beauty vitamins/supplements do you take every day?

I have about 8 plus just placed an order for a few more. Most are immunity builders like vitamin c or zinc I started buying due to covid.

I buy mostly from an online health and wellness shop and every week the founder sends a newsletter of their hero products. I love the way she writes, I find it compelling so I always get sucked in! I didn’t realise I needed hibiscus powder & salt pipes in my life! Grin

About 70% of my meals are healthy & nutritious and on average I eat about 8 veg and fruit a day. I don’t need all these extra vitamins then do I?

I have cod liver oil, a multi vitamin + iron, and vitamin D a few times a week.

I've tried various supplements over the years and, to be honest, I've never noticed a difference.

I think that the phrase "More money than sense" comes to mind.

1 black cohosh for hot flushes
8 does seem rather excessive

I take a well woman capsule. I was on prescribed Vitamin D but have now switched to just the all in one as a safety net. If your diet is balanced and you have no medical issues, any supplements are probably unnecessary. (Disclaimer: not a dietician)

Omega 3 oil caplet
Vitamin D
Feraglobin liquid as my diet doesn't have a lot of iron in it.

Alive! Womens multivitamin and effervescent vitamin c tablet

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 06/02/2021 11:58

I have lots! Some are things like Passion flower which is calming and turmeric for joints. Vit D is certainly recommended, even if you have a balanced diet. DH was offered it via NHS, so I’m assuming it’s necessary. Vit B also.

If it makes you feel you’re helping yourself and you can afford it, why not.

If you’re eating healthily and eating 8 a day then you’re paying a lot of money to produce very vitamin rich urine.

Magnesium citrate and CBD oil.

Nothing. I used to take stuff but decided in end there was no obvious benefit.

Coffee4Queen · 06/02/2021 12:36

Okay I’m being excessive and a numpty. I’m going to blame covid with my obsession as before last year I had never taken any vitamins unless Dr prescribed.

I will continue with Vitamin D & a skin hair nails one that I have experienced fab results with it, but will finish what I have and stop the vitamin buying frenzy.
