Where to get high prescription glasses

I need new glasses. I can't wear contacts anymore and I have always hated wearing glasses.

My prescription is a whopping -9 and -10. Jam jars are people at school we're kind enough to point out. There's nothing I can do about this. It's shit.

Budget is £200. Ideally, I'd get a computer pair too. But I have to pay for thin lenses. I have a round face, small eyes and high pointy eyebrows. So can't follow the frame your eyebrows guide. I think I look shit in glasses. My style is femme boho and I'm early 40s but getting frumpier by the day.

Any suggestions about where to go? I found specsavers pretty useless. None of glasses I liked/suited would work with my prescription and all the assistants just patronised me and treated me like a massive nuisance for having bad eyesight.

Prob just a one off but need to get this bit of lifemin sorted. Thanks all

Asda opticians. They do free thinning for higher prescriptions and they have a pretty good range of frames.

Try an independent optician. I've always found them good and they often have really nice frames that the chains don't have.

I sympathise, my prescription is -7.5 and -8 and I can't wear contacts any more, so I have an idea what it's like.

Asda Opticians. You'd get 2 pairs for that price
