Anyone on here have 2 babies aged 40+?

Interested by a current thread on age gaps between children got me thinking. I'm 41 and had my first baby in 2020 - she was born on my 41st birthday - a lovely present!

Anyway fertility allowing, we would ideally like to have a family of 2 children, mainly because I'd like DD to have a sibling for when she's an adult. I don't want her to have the burden of being an only child when she's left home, and feeling like she has to come and see us every Xmas or whatever! Don't know if that sounds silly but my Mum was an only child and I saw her care for her parents so it chimes with me.

I found the newborn stage hard and much prefer older children, love my dd obviously but enjoy it even more as she gets older iyswim. Not one of those people who desperately clings to the baby stage. So I want to get the baby bit over and done with. In an ideal world I'd wait until my dd was at school before having another, but at 41 I've got no choice. I have to move fast.

To complicate things further I had a c-section and would have to have another next time, so a hard recovery. I'm fit and healthy for my age but still. Doctors said do not get pregnant within 18 months of DD's birth.

Are there any 40+ women out there as crazy as me who've started their family and had 2 babies in their 40's? If so, I'd love to hear your wisdom and advice.

Thank you!

Just had the one baby so far but everyone says it gets so much tougher with two.
