I had a thread in AIBU recently.

My exh is being investigated for CSO , im a witness. Part of the incident I was raped by him. Im the witness in this incident.

I was wondering if anyone has been able to get a restraining order as a witness?

I asked in legal but I thought id ask here for personal experience. This question is really bugging me today and im quite anxious.

Thanks

I believe a restraining order has to go through normal legal channels and is costly but a non-molestation order (which is effectively the same thing) is an emergency measure for someone who is in immediate danger has experienced recent abuse and is carried out free provided you meet the criteria, by the NCDV www.ncdv.org.uk/non-molestation-order/

I should add, I mean if he is convicted of the offence.

That depends on the case/crime/evidence/judge etc. Impossible to say. In my case the judge issued a 2 year restraining order as part of the sentence but it's very much case dependent

Thanks for your replies, so it could be a possibility? The main offence is a Child sexual offence. There is evidence. I wasn't sure because im not the 'main' victim, the underage child is. Just knowing it could be a possibility would help I think.

I would try giving NCDV a call
